What is QuoteMaster?

QuoteMaster is an app for tradespeople that runs on your phone. Quotes, invoices, clients, a diary, receipts and payments in one place — with an assistant you can talk to in plain English, and a profit figure built from what a job really cost rather than what you charged for it.

How do I get started?

Install QuoteMaster from the Google Workspace Marketplace. Once installed, open a Google Sheet, click Extensions in the top menu, and select QuoteMaster. From there, follow the setup steps to create your workspace. Full instructions are in the documentation.

Do I need any other accounts?

No. Just your QuoteMaster account. If you want to take card payments you connect your own Stripe account, which is free to set up and pays into your own bank — but that is optional and everything else works without it.

How long does setup take?

Start your trial here, then install the app from Google Play and sign in with the same email. A short setup asks for your business details, your logo and how you price your work, and you can quote straight away. Building out your services and suppliers takes longer, but you can do that as you go — or load the sample data to have a look round first.

Can I import my existing client and product data?

Yes. Clients, services and products all import from a CSV, so moving off a spreadsheet or another app is a paste rather than a week of typing.

How much does QuoteMaster cost?

QuoteMaster is £29/month or £290/year (ten months for twelve). Both plans include every feature with no restrictions. See the pricing page for full details.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new subscription includes a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. Your trial is applied automatically at checkout, no promo code needed. You won't be charged until the trial ends.

Do I need to enter payment details for the trial?

Yes, a card is required to start the trial. This is standard practice to prevent abuse. You will not be charged during the 14-day period, and you can cancel anytime before the trial ends with no charge.

How do I cancel?

Go to Manage Subscription, enter your email, and you'll be taken to the Stripe billing portal where you can cancel in a couple of clicks. There are no cancellation fees. If you cancel during your trial, you won't be charged at all.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Nothing is deleted. Export everything — documents, clients, a full tax-year P&L — whenever you like, including after you cancel. Your data is yours and we will never hold it hostage to keep you subscribed.

Can I switch between monthly and annual?

Yes. You can switch plans at any time through the Stripe billing portal. If you switch to annual mid-cycle, the remaining value of your monthly plan will be credited.

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds aren't offered for partial billing periods, but you can try QuoteMaster completely free for 14 days before any payment is taken.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards are accepted, plus Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Link. Payment is handled securely through Stripe and your card details are never stored on QuoteMaster's servers.

Does QuoteMaster handle VAT?

Yes. Set your rate once and it applies to quotes and invoices, broken out clearly on the documents and in your figures. Pick your country and it uses the right name and tax year — VAT, GST or sales tax. It gets your books tax-ready for your accountant; it is not an HMRC filing tool and does not submit anything for you.

Can I use my own branding on quotes and invoices?

Yes. Upload your logo in the Customisation tab and it will appear on every quote and invoice you generate. You can also set your business name, address, and contact details to appear on all documents.

How does the WhatsApp integration work?

Every document can go out by WhatsApp, text or email with the message already written — the client's name, what it is for, and the PDF attached. You pick how to send it and read it before it goes.

What if I lose my phone?

Your data backs itself up to your account, encrypted. Sign in on a new phone and it comes back down. Nothing lives only on the handset.

Can I put several jobs on one quote?

Yes, as many as you need. Each one carries its own description, labour and materials, priced from your own rates and a real supplier catalogue with your markup on top — and the customer sees a tidy price, not your workings.

How does the revenue dashboard work?

It shows what you have taken, what you are owed, what is overdue and what each job actually made after materials, wages and expenses. Filter by day, week, month or tax year, and export the lot as a printable P&L or a CSV for your accountant.

What devices does it work on?

Android phones and tablets, from Google Play. An iPhone version is on the way — it is not available yet, and we would rather say so than take your money for something that is not there.

Is it really built for a phone?

It is the whole point. Quote from the customer's hallway, book it into the diary, snap the receipt at the merchant's, take the card before you leave. It is not a desktop tool with a mobile version bolted on.

Is my data secure?

Your data lives on your phone and works there. It also backs up to your account and syncs to your team, and that copy is end-to-end encrypted — scrambled on your device before it leaves, so we hold the file but cannot read what is in it. Nobody at QuoteMaster can see your clients or your figures.

What permissions does the app ask for?

The camera, for receipts and job photos. Storage, to save the PDFs it makes. Location only if you use route planning. It asks when it first needs each one, and everything else works if you say no.

Does it work with no signal?

Yes, and it is one of the main reasons to have it. Quoting, invoicing, the diary, receipts — all of it works in a cellar, a loft or a new build with no reception, and syncs the moment you are back in range. You need signal to sign in the first time, to take a card and to use the assistant.

Can my lads use it too?

Yes. Invite them from Settings and each gets their own sign-in, with what they can see set by you — a field member sees their jobs, not your figures. It is all end-to-end encrypted between devices. Team access is on a higher plan; talk to us and we will sort it.
